Open Question: Teenage pregnancy troubles,?

Okay I am a 16 year old boy, with a 15 year old girlfriend who is currently pregnant. She is due in about 4 months. Just today I was told by her mom than since her baby will be due before she is 16 that my girlfriend will not have custody. Apparently only I will because she said that the legal guardianship age is 16.. They want me to sign over guardianship for the first 6 months or so until my girlfriend is 16. Her mother said that is the only way we can get the baby healthcare because I can't supply the baby with that. Is this a real law? I live in Colorado, please help. And I left out, they want me to sign over guardianship to my girlfriend's mom, so that she can be the one that provides the healthcare. But I dont understand. If my girlfriend has the baby, even though she is only 15 wont she have custody and guardianship? Becuase her mom is telling me she won't. I want to know if this is a real law or not.... Read More »
